Need some guidance. I am building a run that I can walk into. 8'x11.5' and roughly 6 to 7 ft tall.

I have no idea what a dog or coyote can actually get through... I know i have enough coyotes around that i am worried about them.

I was debating on

1. black pvc coated welded wire (16 gauge) on the full run with 1/2 hardware cloth on the bottom 4 ft of the run.

2. or just going with 19 gauge 1/2 inch hardware cloth on the full run and no welded wire.

I cant find any good info on how strong the 2 are in comparison or even what a coyote will get through.

I will be doing a skirt and the run will be covered with a roof because of all the rain we get.

have dogs or coyote gone though anyone 1/2 19 gauge hardware cloth?

Do I need to use something different then what I listed?

sounds sufficient for me. I built a cattle panel hoop run and covered it all with 1/2" 19 gauge hardware cloth. The neighbors dogs found the run a couple days ago and all they could do was pace back and forth and bark. Scared the chickens all inside, but they were safe. I wasn't watching when they first found it, so I can't say if they actually tried it and were deterred of if they just didn't try. There was no evidence they tried then or since to dig though my apron either.......
