Chicken run roof or no roof

Oh yes, iv'e had one fly between my feet.
He was very tiny, and to be quite honest he looked embarrassed.
Iv'e also had one eat a chipmunk on the ground with my entire flock circled around him watching him like he was some sort of live show.
He didn't take flight until I poked him with a stick.:)
Wow I never knew that hawks could act like that

The predator risk issues have already been covered really well, but another part of the story is about your weather. If you have snow, your chickens won't want to be out in it, unless you shovel paths at least.

That’s how mine are, we have only a centermeter of snow they all come out for breakfast and don’t come out again till morning. When it first snowed they didn’t come out for a week!
