Chicken run roof

Hi. I desperately need different ideas for roofing materials for my chicken run.
Welcome to BYC.
What size is your run? Where are you located? You can update your profile with that information.

This is what I used

PVCLite 26" x 8' PVC Corrugated Roof Panel at Menards https://www.menards.com/main/p-1444424088714.htm

the vinyl roofing is great....just make sure you install it on a slope for drainage.....we made a goof of installing it flat on my small aviary and during heavy rains, it leaks down the edges and causes issues. we are trying to correct the problem but it is much more difficult in our situation because the residents of that aviary are budgies and finches.

Hi. My run is 17'x26'. I live in southeast VA.
Can you please post some pictures of it? What are the walls of the run constructed with?
For that span and length, you need serious support for a solid roof.

As Dobielover says, pics please. With a 17 foot span you will need serious support. You will probably have to add a middle beam and use either home built or commercial built rafters on a minimum of 2 foot centers. Look at pole barns for suggestions. It's very hard and expensive to find 2X6's or 2X4's that length.

We do have a center support & the slope is there. Wanted to use hardware cloth, but it is sooo expensive. Now thinking about putting something solid on the back 1/2 & some type of welded wire on the front half. My thinking is that way my chickens would have the best of both worlds while in the run. However, are chickens "smart enough to get out of the rain" ?
