Chicken run size ???

I have 5 hens now but looking to add at least 25 more to the flock but I don't know how big of a run I will need for them ? I can not just turn them out do to dogs in the area I live in the country and the neighbors dogs are a big problem and they will not pen them up. Any ideas ??

Get a shotgun and take care of stray dogs? ............ I'm only half joking

Most recommend 10 sq ft per bird in the run, so you're looking at 300sq ft which would be like a 18'x18' chicken run. But bigger is ALWAYS better

I built one out of a couple of shipping crates I got from a guy off Craig's list. 'bout 4x6 very basic, 3 bay laying box off the back, tag sale shingles, cheapo 1x3 strapping on the corners. Just remember its just a chicken coop plans . I'll try to get a few pics when I get a chance. Just look at the ones on backyardchickens in the previous post, then modify to fit your yard and available materials.
