Hi!
A friend was helping me put together a run and coop for my soon to be arriving chickens. The coop looks really solid. The run has welded wire dug into a two foot trench around. However, for some reason, he made the decision to only use welded wire on the bottom three feet of the run. Above that, and for the roof is chicken wire.
I know this isn't ideal, but, realistically, how much safety am I losing. There are definitely raccoons, owls, and rats in the area. The coyotes were "removed" a few years ago and we haven't seen any since then.
