I have an approx. 6mo old Easter egger hen. About a week ago, I found her outside and thought she was dead. Cold and bleeding from her comb. That night she had 3 major seizures and died. The next morning we realized she was still alive somehow and made attempts to help her recover. For the following 2 days, she had a few more seizures but gradually got better. She has not been eating much, but I had been syringe feeding her water with electrolytes until she started drinking by herself 2 days ago. Also have been tending to the comb, which does not seem to have much damage at all. Up until today, we were fairly confident she was going to pull through. She’s been standing up and taking a few steps at a time, and she has been eating and drinking on her own.

The problem today:
This has happened three times within 20mins now. She has suddenly begun to chomp at the air aggressively and repeatedly. She then threw herself up and out of the container she’s being held at, and ran full force at the wall. Then she tips over and tries again. Her pupils are huge. I’m assuming this is a neurological problem from the seizures and whatever head trauma she may have suffered when I originally found her. My guess as to what happened originally is that she may have had a fever and the others began to pick on her, giving her the head trauma. She has not been previously bullied but I am leaning towards the conclusion that the others contributed to her head injury.

I am confused because she was doing so well, and this change has been extremely sudden. I guess I’m looking for some sort of explanation. I am also unsure if she can recover from these symptoms/ what to do.

Anything helps. We are fairly new to all of this. Thanks!
