Chicken screams when I touch them

Bi polar chicken lmfao jk.
I was thinking along the same line - maybe she’s just extra hormonal :lau . Some of my girls peck me all the time, but 99.9% of the time it’s for attention (basically, not mean pecks just either curious ones or ‘Hey! Pay attention to meeeeee!’ pecks).

I have an EE who was attack-y when she got close to point of lay - like full on trying to take me on. I just ‘pecked’ back at her with my index and ring finger and would pin her down firmly but not overly so for a while to let her know she wasn‘t going to boss Mama Chicken around. Now, she’s my biggest snuggle bug and only pecks me if I mess with her when she’s in the nesting box.

I’ve got this Wyandotte and wellsummer mix and she’s rude. She pecks me and goes broody. She also screams when I touch her. She’s the Lowest of the pecking order.. she also attacks me..
When she is not broody, describe that. Is she still broody right now? How did you break her? Being broody is a month long thing for most hens that decide to go broody. Without breaking her with a broody breaker, she may stay on the nest and come out to eat and drink 1-2 times a day. To me, she sounds like she is still broody. What do you classify as NOT broody?

Well she attacked me when she thinks I’m attacking her.

Why does she think you're attacking her? And if she does think that, then it's quite natural that she would attack back. So whatever you're doing that frightens her, don't do that.
Once I pulled grass she bit me.
Why would that make her bite you? Were you so close to her that it scared her?

She even ran to my leg and pecked me and jumped on my head

Was that when you pulled the grass? Maybe she just needs you to respect her space.
when she’s broody she even chases me
Most hens stay on their nest when they're broody and setting on eggs. Does she leave her eggs to chase you? Or does she chase you when she has chicks to protect? If she has chicks, it may be normal for her to chase anyone away from them.

I have a little bantam hen who comes to me. She’ll even peck at my legs when she wants picked up.
Your girl may be begging to be picked up and pecking at you is her only way of saying “I am here! Mom!”
I’m thinking this might be it, too. My old lady, Alice (8 year old Barred Rock) shuffles over on her old legs and will peck-scrape at me until I pet her or pick her up. She’s just letting me know she wants wuvvies :love. Not all pecks are created equal!:lau
