Chicken Shoes!

Just bought these. Wanted something that could slip on and off without needing to use hands... less poop on my hands is a good thing right??? We'll see how they work....

I feel a little late to the party & yikes, this is embarrassing, but here's my front porch.
It actually gets worse than this, because usually there's feathers & chicken/duck poop on it too. Picture an additional 4 pair of rain boots out there in the rainy season. The kids pickup the poop everyday, but the chickens just keep ploppin'em out, so we have to keep a stiff brush out there for the indoor shoes.

Yeah, I'm all about not having to use my hands to put my shoes on (dog kisses and all), but sadly, my sloggers need that little extra thumb slide in order to get the heel in. And they're really uncomfortable to wear when I do the super lazy "stand on the heel part and pretend they're clogs" thing. But, they're definitely my favorite chicken shoes because not only are they waterproof, but I can sprint after an errant rooster in them. So, I've been sucking it up and putting them on all normal-like. I'm surviving. Barely.

Good tread on those, but I guarantee you will build up gobs of gunk in the middle, right under the arch. But a cinder block comes in handy for scraping it off. :gig

@Joeschooks Was looking for shoe ideas and laughed when I saw somebody else beat me to this thread.. I was going to start one. We are new to chickens and the mud is driving me crazy. What kind of chips did you put down? Maybe this would be cheaper than pavers and easier than pallets.
Haha :gig
I use oak woodchips. Our tree surgeon has a huge farm and loads of chickens so he knows what to save for me :D You don’t want any cedar or yew in there :thumbsup

I have regular rubber rain boots, but my run in on a pretty good slope and I've slipped a few times.
I don't like my rubber boots because I can't move quickly in them. I suppose different brands might function better than mine do, but I really like the sloggers shoes.
