chicken songs

are males the only ones that do the "buk buk buk bukaaahhh" song? I have a rooster that does this and have noticed a younger little girl doing the same thing. When one starts the other joins in.None of the others do it so I was wondering if its just a copy cat thing or maybe the one I think is a girl...really isnt?

Today when I went out to the coop two of my hens that had just laid in the coop were doing the song and the rooster aka Hef was in the coop also doing it with them it was kind of comical

oh no, both of my females make that sound.

it's a chicken thing.
