I have a similar issue with one on my Rhode Island reds. I've been following this post all day In hopes to get home to treat her. Unfortunately she didn't make it. Should I start a new post? I'm concerned with Meraks but I've read her symptoms could be any number of things. I'm new to chickens and I feel like my delayed recognition killed my best egg layer. I'm worried about the others now. They all seem fine though.

I'm so sorry you lost your girl too. Chickens are very good at hiding illness, often until it is too late, so don't be hard on yourself for not spotting it sooner.
Getting a necropsy done is the only real way to identify what the problem was and perhaps enable you to manage/treat it if it happens again.
