Chicken standing in the corner of the coop head tucked?

Oh good!! I assumed it was pretty quick considering my glove didn't have one mite on it after treating all the girls and before the treatment of I just ran my hand down her back my glove would have about 20 mites on it! Hopefully she is doing much better in the morning if I don't lose her tonight. She was extremely lethargic before I left to pick up the dust, and as I was dusting her she seemed so lifeless. I could literally do anything I wanted with her and she did not care one bit. Pray for my little goldilocks tonight! She will need it! And thank you all so much for your time and help!!!

I hope she makes a full recovery. Keep it up with the high-protein treats!!!

as of this morning the coop and hens seem to be mite free! But my poor girl might not make it. She has officially lost her appetite and her legs And body seem very cold to me. She seems more comfortable but I'm just not sure if she will be able to pull through :(

If you have a heat lamp..it may be an idea to use one above her...she needs to be kept warm...

Praying she will recover!

I will give her a heat lamp at night tonight. She has been outside all day today dust bathing and soaking up the sun. She almost seems now to be slowly coming around. She is still rather weak, but looks like things might be slowly turning around for her!!

I do so hope and pray that she is turning around...she is in great hands with her wonderful MommaChicken3 to tend to her needs!

Thanks!! I just brought her in to the coop. All the girls came in and she was still sitting outside soaking up the sun nibbling on some grass. She is still a little weak, but coming around! I exterminated the coop today!! Literally scrubbed that place top to bottom! All the nesting boxes and the floor and walls! Let it all dry and dusted the ENTIRE coop every crack and crevice with sevin dust. I sevin dusted the floor, threw some DE on top of that and lightly bedded with shaving again, as I plan on doing it all over in about 10 days! I gave her a heat lamp for the night as she is still to weak to roost so she sleeps on the floor or in the big nesting boxes on the floor or in their actual Nesting cubbies where they lay. She seems much happier! What are some other good things to feed her to help with the anemia? She gave up on eggs and tuna?

Boil her a little quinoa (KEEN-wa) and then feed the rest to your family. ;)

It's the only complete source of plant-protein. Kind of an earthy, wild-rice flavor.

1 cup of quinoa
1 cup water
Bring to a boil, drop to a simmer, and cook for 18-20 mins, stirring occasionally with a fork. You should see the little "tails" spring up and the whole bunch will fluff. You'll know it when it happens. :)

I love it with butter (but leave that off for your girl)!

See if she'll have some of that. If not, you and yours will be eating high on the hog tonight!
