I can see a sign for the most special roosters not going to someones dinner but if every rooster is marked this way unfortunately they will have to be brought back home and lord knows how long before someone wants one for a pet. and lets face it not all roosters have the greatest personality.
I had a cross of Langshton and good knows what else that was an absolute terror , he attacked everyone from children to the witchy old mother in law ( aww good rooster) lol. but the day he gave me 10 stitches he was next night stew, he was stunning also but such a jerk.
Animal Cruelty on the other hand , if you see it by all means jump right up in someones face, I do, even if I need a darned old milk crate to meet someone in the eye. never stops me in the least.

He is out of my first original line, beefy little boy and just as handsome as all get out,
I had 5 Silver Fox returned to me today as the woman felt they were too large fo her to handle? she is used to the froofroo bunnys like Netherland dwarfs lol. so yes going from a 2 lb rabbit to trying to wrestle a 11 lb rabbit must have been quite the shock for her lol.
He is here and available when you want him, I can drive up if I can remember how to get there to drop him off.

I dont raise hollands , personally do not like them much, but can pick out the good ones.
I do have Netherland Dwarfs though, and of course Silver Fox and French lops.

But really... just because they "say" they are going to be pets doesnt mean that they ARE going to be pets. KWIM?
People can be dishonest on the fly with no problem. Happens all the time with animals. Horses, dogs,cats, rabbits and chickens.
Twinlights(she comes here now and then) has a horse that she sold to someone that "promised" the mare was going to be loved and such and have a forever home. Not two months later she got a email from a stranger telling her the mare was at a slaughter auction barn. They tracked her down as the previous owner from the mares papers. The organization recognized a quality mare and saved her. But the horse shouldnt have ended up in PA in the first place. She should have been safely tucked into a nice clean stall in western MA. Mare is now "home" at Twins barn awaiting adoption through a horse adoption program that checks every reference etc.
Barring "us" here that know each other now, and that we care about our birds and other animals. There are chances that you take when selling or giving away an animal.
And we cant really make a generalization about certain ethnic groups either. Because there are people in each group that are not "like" what the rest of us see as the "norm" Heck. One of my best friends is an older guy that laughs at me when I mention that the girls will be with me til they die a natural death. Not one by axe. And he knows me.
