Chicken Stock/ Craft Stock for Nov. 8th Tractor Supply Milford NH

My hubby's friend in Holden doesn't have any power. Prolly won't have any until tomorrow at least. At least he has a gas heater. The battery powered radio's driving him nuts though. LOL

Has the New England Bantam Club already had it's second show?

I just talked to DH on the phone and he said he had no idea when he will be home. There are still a ton of people out of power. He didn't know the numbers but they are not even thinking of sending the crews home yet. He went out on Friday morning.

Our neighborhood up in Lebanon hasn't had power since the storm, and they aren't supposed to get it back until tomorrow (Monday) at the earliest. I wonder if our lane will get it back then or later? Hubby is going up there tomorrow, he's afraid the water heater in the cellar is going to go. We drain the whole house completely, but always leave the water heater going, it has a 'vacataion' setting. Hopefully it didn't freeze, but just to be safe he's going to check. Plus I need some stuff at the supermarket, he might as well get it for cheap while he's up there (the prices are so much better than down around here!).

We were lucky living right in city proper we only lost power for a short while... The power here is slowing coming on around my area...Malls were closed Supermarkets have to throw a lot of meats and other perishables away cause they have been with out power since Thursday night... It is supposed to thaw a bit tomorrow so it'll be better for all those linemen working in the cold...if you see any give them a cup of coffee...

Hubby loves working the storm, he says he feels like a hero putting the people's power back on.
All my nephews are working the storm and cousins and uncles. The whole family is a bunch of lineman.
Noisy but good hearted bunch

Our power was out from Thursday evening until this morning. I had 2 bators of eggs...they all died.

Purr which Line co does your hubby work for ,
My Hubby works through McDonough electric.
he has been out since 6 pm thursday night , have heard frm him a few times and looks like a few more days on the job.
dont know where they are going from Eastern Mass.

I was stupid the first night with no power but grew a brain after the genni got up and runnng hooked one bator up that had chicks well developd in it.
I think I lost all 60 button quail eggs though, that bator I totally forgot to hook to the genni. time will tell.

Purr....my father was a lineman also...he worked for Bechtel power in Houston for many many years...he also worked on offshore oil rigs as an electrician. I remember his pole climbing spikes and his helmet duct taped with sticks!! LOL

Gypsy and UrbanMamma....you poor things. I had the same thing happen to me last year....transformer fire lost power for like 8 hours....I left them and started up the bator again and ONLY 2 hatched. They were marans eggs. Next time....I'll put a hen in a dark box with the eggs on a nest and FORCE her to go broody if I can. Poor babies!!

still no school here tomorrow , some in town still dont have their power, i had to bring in 2 brooders of chicks from the coop, i put them in a small box so they could pile and keep each other warm threw this, i havent lost one yet, but i am sure it wasnt good for any of them, will rethink the winter hatching i think, what a pain in the butt
