Yes, either one of those dates is good unless we're down south (just remembered that!). Oh well.
I hope more people bring chickens this time, there seemed to be way more rabbits than chickens.
I love the rabbits too but I had been hoping for some more chicks.

I think Reinbeau would LOVE to bring home some bunnies!!

No bunnies, Nat, I've already done the bunny thing!

Gypsy how old was that goat that you got? Is she doing any better drinking?

Hubby dreads my goat desire!

Feb is tough. I really do not do winter.
We wont be getting chicks until Ideal; starts shipping again

Anyone going to the chicken show at the Eastern States Fairgrounds in Jan? I think my dh is wondering about my sanity. But if there is a lot of snow or the weather is bad I will be hunkered down and not going anywhere. And he thinks I am going to go back to driving a freaking sedan. HA

I think me and Reinbeau are shooting for that show as well.
Same thing, the snow. If its crazy snowing then I know I won't be able to drive that far in it.
I hate the way people drive in the snow around here, the minute we get a dusting on the road people drive so much slower it takes like an hour to go a mile down the road.
You would think that living in New England they would be use to it by now.
So I if it snows that day I can count on it taking twice as long to get home from there and I don't want to get home too late.

I hope that woman from the kennel in new hampshire holds a meet there.
That place is so gorgeous!! I would love to go to one there.
She posted in another thread that she is thinking of doing one there in the spring.

We'll be there showing some of our Narragansett turkeys, Silkies, and Bantam/LF Dominiques. I just hope the weather is good.... driving down 91 in a blizzard or freezing rain with a truckload of poultry would be not so good!

One year we went and it was scary driving with freezing rain & slippery roads. But a couple other times we went and the weather was great (hope we have a January thaw about that time!)

If the weather is bad we can always " snow date" that isnt a huge issue. we have full use of the stock room as usual.

I didnt realize Eastern State was in Jan , another goodreason to hold off till Feb.

Generally Feb isnt as bad as it could be. fingers crossed for a good weekend.

Tell me about it...I thought I was doing good with 100 quantity each for the soaps...YOU can tell which are the best sellers. I have not had ANY time to soap either...so I'm going to be soaping tomorrow to get my stock back up. Folks were ordering 20 and 30 bars each of the stuff....and it went so fast. I'll send out another email promotion when my stock is back up. I'm still just taking paypal though...and my website is definitely a work in progress. I've worked thru some kinks and now the season is going to change and I'll have to photograph my soaps for a different season....I'm thinking winter/valentines theme for the next go around. I did donate a few bars to a community organization and that felt good...paying it forward. I think I'm going to donate some of my older stock to the Community Kitchen in Keene too.

Ice wasn't bad here....we did get a few power outages lasting 10 minutes or so but that was it.

My daughter goes to college in NH and they sent all the kids home, that could go home.
They don't have power either, so can't really feed the kids,I think she said no heat and all that.
They asked anyone who lives in New England to try and go home.
She was coming home for my daughter's birthday anyway so she just came home a little earlier.
