Thanks. I did give her a better exam, did not feel anything inside with lubed gloved finger, though she does seem a bit swollen feeling down there externally (I was afraid to squeeze too much). I gave her an epsom salt bath for 20 minutes and am keeping a close eye on her.
She has not, her shells have been good.
(Pic is from last night). No more watery yellow. She's been eating scrambled egg and fly larve and drinking water and has more energy. Color is returning to her comb. Crop emptied overnight. Still no egg, but I'm not sure she was egg bound. Perhaps the epsom salt soak helped whatever was going on but still don't know, just happy she's improving. Going to keep her in the "chicken hospital" another day or 2 till I'm sure she is back to normal.
What else should I do? She is eating/drinking and each poop looks better than the last. She doesn't have any of the other symptoms of water belly. Since she has not laid an egg in 4ish days perhaps that indicates something reproductive? (Again, I found no signs of eggbound except what seems to be slightly swollen area down there, nothing hard, did not detect anything internally but did epsom soak). Could it just be a reaction to the new food? She IS improving...
