Chicken suddenly pecks the other

Hi… I only have 2 chickens I raised since they were 8 weeks. They’ve been so cute together all these times, I called them besties. They walk everywhere side by side. Then, one of the chicken is molting and becomes very aggressive toward the other chicken. She starts pecking the other chicken whenever she is nearby. Is this normal behavior? Should I do anything to prevent the pecking?

Molting birds are uncomfortable and can become irritable. As long as she is not drawing blood leave them alone. It's relatively normal behavior that will eventually pass.
