Hello all, new quail owner have only had them a few months. I have a bunch and 2 breeds. First question I am curious as to what chicken/duck supplements are okay for quail. I have a life-lytes by manna pro and a rooster booster also by them that id like to use to help out my wounded quail. Any other supplements for quail or that are okay for quail please put a link for!

Second question is I am trying to find out why I have the wounded quail. Coturnix quail is a female not too old that has been living and I bought with 2 others. She has always been the boss. They are living in a rabbit cage that is 6 square feet. 4 feet long and roughly 2 feet wide. they have been fine for at least a month and i went out tonight to find this female with a very bloody and matted head also an injured eye. I have isolated her in the house by herself with food and water and all she is doing is going to a corner and sleeping.

If it's fit for chickens/ducks and not medicated and doesn't exceed 10% of their diet I don't think there would be a problem.

As for the hurt female, it could have been from a fight (maybe over limited water/food?) but might have been a self inflicted bump on the head wound that looked tempting to the other quail so they've been harassing/pecking at her for a time which may explain the eye?

Keep her warm and seperated until she heals up and watch for infection in that hurt eye
