Chicken swallowed own beak

I don't understand how a beak can go down a chicken's throat without any form of separation from the bone like a /break, or degeneration of bone structure.
Same. I am completely there with you. But here we are. The bottom jaw ligaments must have accommodated, that’s all I can figure. No dislocation or anything. But I am totally with you on that, I am shocked.

How did y'all get it out of her throat? Did you actually hold the beak between your fingers? Was it still attached to her face? How on earth did you manage to open her mouth and keep it open while you stuck your fingers down her throat? I'm not trying to imply you're a liar, just trying to understand.
Hahah I couldn’t make this up if I tried. I held the top of her head, pulled it up and back while pushing on her throat where I could feel the beak through the skin. It took two tries and it just popped out. I stood there in more shock than she was in and just held her. Manipulated the jaw and palpated the joint, no dislocation or displaced fracture. She ate like crazy while we held her about 10 mins post incident. It was something so bizarre I don’t know of anyone could be that creative to make up lol. I am just Sooo happy we didn’t cull her.

This is certainly the most bizarre injury I've ever read about. Hopefully she continues to look completely normal in the future.

Me either! I don't think your a liar, it just doesn't make any sense to me.....
:p So crazy!

Weird, the beak should not be that soft, this doesn't make much sense to me. 🤔
What do you feed out of curiosity? So the beak folded back into her throat?
Nuts!
The beak is not soft. It did not bend. The lower jaw had to have been stretched out forward, forced out by downward pressure on the top beak, just enough for the top beak to be forced down, bypassing the Lower beak. No lateral movement, just up and down. There is no bend ability in the birds beak. The whole beak went down into the throat and was protruding under the lower beak, could feel it through the neck skin. It didn’t fold or bend. Imagine if you put traction on lower beak and pushed upper beak down, it would go down throat, bypass lower beak and poke out neck under lower beak. That’s what happened. It really had to have been a one in a million physics moment.

That’s insane! really I am so glad she’s okay and that is a one in a million scientific thingy!

Ohhhh! That makes WAY more sense! I was wondering how that could have happened.
Wow! That is crazy!
