CHICKEN SWAP MAY 23 MILFORD NH

Wow!! That is so cool that you would mention that. My Daugher and I were sitting her tonight looking at them, she was doing some history review on her Faverolle for Showmenship on Sunday and wanted me to show her a picture of the Dorking. She really loves most of the breeds with 5 toes. We didn't have much luck finding any either, lots of pictures just not too many breeders close. If you do please let us know, after you get some for yourself of course

I didn't even realize they were having a spring show this year until yesterday. Luckily I have until Friday to send my entries, so I'll be there! I'm really looking forward to showing my nonbearded buff silkie girls, so now I don't have to wait until fall! Too bad all of my turkeys look like they've been run over by a lawnmower right now. The boys have been so busy fighting and breeding that they are in no condition to be in a show right now!

yea i gotta get mine in too. been so busy.

YAY

I think that genetically the funky colored chicks are silver penciled with "feathering" and some gold leaking through. Makes them look pretty neat IMHO.

I'm now down to 2 SS pullets, 1 black Wyandotte x, 3 buff Wyandotte x, 1 chipmunk funky Wyandotte cross.

I will be bringing pure bred Netherland Dwarfs, mostly himmi, and one SiaSable buck. For a higher price ($40) I can bring a SiaSable doe but will only bring her if someone asks so as to not stress her since she has a show to go to the next weekend if she doesn't sell before then.

I will also have pure bred Mini Lops. Not sure on colors but there will probably be a variety. Mostly, if not all, weaned babies, could be some older ones too, not sure.

Now I'm just praying I will be able to handle it with my broken and now newly injured foot. Some lady accidentally kicked it hard in the dark movie theater and now it hurts more than when I had just broken it.

There are a lot of good breeds. The Netherlands and Mini Lops I will be bringing are from good tempered stock. Lily of Lily's Rabbit Hole will be there with her Netherlands and Mini Rex (sometimes Lionheads too) which are from good friendly stock as well. Most Holland Lops have great personalities if Cory goes to the swap, which she usually does, she should have some Hollands. She also does Mini Lops. Those are your options around here if you want to stay with a small breed. I do have a friend who breeds Fuzzy Lops but I'm not sure if she will be sending any along with me, I think she said just Nethies and Mini's this time, but I can ask. Most of the breeders around here breed for friendly healthy stock that can still compete on the show table. That's just the people that go to the swaps that I can think of off the top of my head. If you find me at the swap I can introduce you around. I'll be limping around in my aircast boot so I will be hard to miss. Closer to the end of the week I will know what I will be wearing too.

Update on the Pheasant Hatch.
5 out of 6 with # 6 still working its little peep hole.

these chicks are stunning right out of the incubator, SO much Color already ! browns, gold toning, just stunning.
I cant wait to see these little peepers develope !

I have them in with my 5 day ld cochins, who are now teaching them where the food and water is, I love baby baby sitters lol.
Makes life so much easier.

OH Val !!! Wait till you see the Slate Turkeys I picked up. the Woman suggested crossing them with the Royals for a better more splashy colors.
I will try and get pictures up of the pheasant and turkeys in a little bit.
