True, that is why they usually give it a chance at relocation before disposing of it. I live in a much more populated neighbohood than Truecolorsloft and there was a bear visiting the feeders and they relocated and tagged it and he did not come back and they sent us updates as to his sightings a few times afterwards. He had no fear of people so we also thought he would be disposed of, but he did not come back. But I also agree with Heather that they should rule out another predator. Two years later it was a female and her 3 cubs that came around, they reloctated all 4 of them and they were not seen again! So now we are dealing with bobcats, man o man are they creepy when they screem! I read the pests and predators thread on hear every day and it is very interesting all the horror stories regarding things from pet cats to bears and even humans that are killing and stealing chickens! But the thing that shock me the most is the disregard of pet dogs a lot of the folks have in regard to not keeping them on their own property after someone with chickens tells them point blank they will shoot them if they come after their chickens again. So the poor dogs are getting shot because their owners dont believe that property owners have the right to do so when their livestock is in danger!
