HI guys and girls

I have those 2 Deleware hens that I forgot to bring to the last swap. They have finished their big molt and are laying again. i am getting an egg a day from the two. I would sell the pair for $25 if anyone wants to come get them.

I have my breed pens set up and they just do not fit well anywhere - I do not have a roo for them. Right now they are in with my Mottled Javas if anyone wnated to hatch a few of their eggs from that pairing. I am staying away from the mixes this year (some what

I also have 1 blue cochin hen who is starting to get what my daughter calls "frosting".

She has some grey/white in her eye brows and a few other feathers. I do not want to breed this back in so she will be for sale for $15 if anyone is interested. She is in with my Giant cochins. She has nice body type and is laying. She hatched here last April.

Is anyone interested in buying Organic corn? I bought one bag but can't get any more unless I buy a ton! (The feed store only gets it in 2 or 3 times a year)

Anyone else in the Woodsville or Littleton, NH/St Johnsbury, VT area interested? If so, PM me

hi everyone

I have not been online because I am overwhelmed with weather. when it snows greg is gone so I am alone to care for things. I have spent soooooo much time outside I think I am part popsicle. I say yuck to frozen water
somad.gif
. yuck to shoveling off the roof of the coop and the roof of my work truck
he.gif
. dragging gallons of hot water out and frozen waterers in to thaw. can you say tons of extra hay and shavings every time the weather says single digits
rant.gif
. hate the thought of hauling it all out of the buildings in the spring.

I have lost 2 to the harsh conditions. no signs of illness. just stopped eating and slowly went down hill. 1 was a tiny frizzle hen that I have had for 2 years and the other was a young white silkie rooster that I had big plans for in the spring. I did everything I could think of for them but to no avail.

davlyn,
good move to shut the window across from the roost. I once talked to someone who lost 1 chicken a night from the same spot on the roost till he figured out he had a nail hole in the wall at that spot and plugged it. they froze and died during the night instead of moving to a different spot.

Hi, everybody - I'm looking for a small number of bantam eggs to put under some serama hens that decided to go broody on nothing and are not breaking. Bantam cochins would be my preference but I am honestly OK with anything - we just need to give these ladies something to hatch. (And yes, Kathie, these are yours - I've got two broody and one thinking seriously about it!) I'm looking for maybe six or eight; I'll give each of them two and put the remainder in the incubator to make sure we've got chicks for them.

I'm in Plaistow and, honestly, location close to us and a reasonable price are more important than breed/type this time. Our broody ladies are tucked into warm clean boxes in our basement and there's no fear of cold; we take excellent care of our chickens and the babies will be (sigh) raised inside until warm weather.

I do not have banties and I am not that close to you so if you find something else go for them. I am in Claremont. I do have some mix eggs I can not sell an I do not want to hatch mixes right now. I have barnevelder roo over blue laced red wyandottes. I also have mottled have over deleware hens. If you are interested let me know.

Thanks, April - I would take them gladly but I don't think serama hens can cover standard chicks once they get to be over a few days old. Even regular bantams will be a stretch! Mixes are TOTALLY OK in this request - I just don't have a THING to give them because my oldest pullets are still not laying age.

in the winter I let my flock run together. I have cochin (b/b/s) hens and black bantam roo. Also have NH bantam hens and NH bantam roo. Now, there are 2 sebrights, 2 nankins, a mille fleur dutch in with them so could be a mix of either. If you want some eggs, I am willing to give them to you. that said, it is cold out, I collect eggs 2 x daily and last I checked all were fertile, BUT anything can happen this time of year. I dont know where you are located, but I am near concord and go there several times a week if you want to meet up.
