Due to scheduling conflicts, I can't attend any of the upcoming chicken swaps....anyone interested in any of the following...Blue laced red wyandotte roosters, Cochin (Splash, Light Blue and Dark Blue) roosters, Splash Maran Rooster, Blue Olive Egger rooster, Barnevelder Rooster....we got straight run from a breeder and we can't keep any roosters. They have been hand raised with children, a cat (who could care less0 and a Collie AKA "Mother Hen" We would like to rehome them so they can be roosters. Thanks Andrea

I am trying to start by backyard flock, but only have space from 4 and want to start with Chicks so that they are pets as well as egg layers. Do people attend the swaps looking for partners to share the 12?

Does anyone here want to share 12? i could go as many as 6.

thanks,
kate

Kate, you can choose less than 12 chicks at the swap as long as they are four or more weeks old. There are lots of chicks to choose from at the swaps-- you might decide to put an addition on your coop:)

DanyyChicken sounds like a really great group of birds! I went to the swap today for the first time in over a year and saw lots of great birds. I loved NHnana's mixes the best. Brahmas however are my absolute faves. One day I hope to find a couple of them in Bantam size at one of the local swaps.
Great to see everyone and check out their stock and it was great that it was under cover. Cher was very nice to let them use the huge drive through garage on a day like today!

Thank you so much for the praise..........lol
I love hatching chickens and the funkier the better.
I also want to thank Cher for letting us use the Garage. I really think I would have gone for an early lunch if we had to set up the tents.
Thanks everyone for making it a great day.
There may not have been alot of venders today but we all had fun and a great lunch at The Pines afterwards.
Sharon, I wanted to tell you that Blazingsaddles is the one with the barred rocks and he says he still has 3 that are about the same age as the ones you got this weekend and they live in Hooksett so you wouldn't have far to travel for them.
Hope to see you all in Tilton next week.
