I hope you have great luck with your eggs. I came home to a FANTASTIC hatch. just finished taking them out of the bator. 33 out of 44 so far. a few more are pipped. the first one hatched thursday night so I really had to get them out. there are plenty of silkies and showgirls. I have 20 to 25 silkie hens so I hatch alot of silkies when they are not sitting on eggs. most of them stay at my house till they get really pretty and fluffy. it's like having a whole bunch of feather dusters running around.
the quail are getting along just fine now. he is less agressive than my last male. one of the girls bosses him around. I think he has figured out that she is in charge. sort of like he figured out how to say "yes dear, whatever you want dear".
Soooo, I'm weak and can't keep my fingers out of the bator
but ALL our 7 minorca's are developing at a great pace! And it's AMAZING to see them actually move! It's the closest I'll get to motherhood for a VERY long time! xD 2 of 4 silkie eggs are developing, and a few blrw, but I'm not sure on the number cuz I didn't touch those tonight. Just the one's Shay gave me. Quite a few of those look good! maybe 3 that might be infertile? Next time I might have to get a butt load of silkie eggs from you
What comforts my mother and father with all this hatching is that I keep telling them chicks are darn easy to sell! Not that I won't keep a ton
Yeah we had two males before and I always liked that little guy better
. And you're right! That's totally his attitude! "Yes dear!"
you will have to keep us posted on the egg progress. sounds like you are doing great. I still love to watch them develop and hatch. It never gets old. my parents let me have all the pets I wanted. They said it kept me home and out of trouble. at the time I worked at a pet shop. I had a room full of small animals,4 hutches full of angora rabbits, himalayan kittens, and dachunds. I sold most of what I bred to the pet shop
