It was a good swap today even if we had 5" of snow on the ground when we woke up. It was nice to see everyone.

Great swap today! I sold all 25 chicks and came home with one mille fleur cochin (Thanks, nhnanna!) and a silkie trio! Can't wait for the concord swap :)

Was a great swap! Nice to see you all again and some new faces :) Sold all of my older pullets and a bunch of the younger crowd....even some of my straight run designer babies! Came home with some Muscovys and Quail. The quail are cooing happily in my sons room. They are SO cute :) Can't wait to see you all at Agway in a couple weeks. Hope the weather holds out for us.

I had a great time today. I got to be a customer for most of the day. it was so fun to be on the other side of the table for a change. I bought 2 blue bantam americaunas. they are very sweet and are all settled in their new home. I also bought 4 quail. they seemed cold so I put them under a brooder light when I got home. they have perked up so I am hoping they are fine. When they were warmed up I gave them some warm water. one of the little guys decided it needed a foot bath and climbed in to the dish. it was up to its knees and splashing. silly little bird!

had a great time at the swap. it was nice to see everyone again. I came home with 2 standard Cochins, 2 RR, 3 BR, 1 Polish, 2 Bantam Cochins, 4 Buff Orpingtons and 2 silkies. Last night I went through everyones paperwork. We had people from new hampshire-mass-vermont-maine-and rhode island. everyone did a fantastic job. the manager of tractor supply was very pleased with the turnout. this was a trial for an indoor winter swap and I want to tell everyone that we passed with flying colors. A representative from the department of agriculture stopped by. many of us recognized her because she tested our flock. every new hampshire vendor who setup yesterday was npip tested. we have many new vendors. one of them takes CHARGE CARDS. some of the other vendors are considering doing the same thing. I brought 50 flyers gave them all out and wished I had brought more. If anyone wants to hang flyers. in stores in your area let me know.
FYI---the craigslist flaggers are back. my advertising on craigslist is back to now you see it now you don't. I could use some help posting ads. All you have to do is post a link to the web site. advertising is very important to these swaps. the more we advertise the bigger the turnout we have.
I also want to thank all the vendors who stayed after the swap to help clean up. tractor supply is very happy when we do not leave a mess that they have to pay someone to clean.
I am looking foreward to the osborne agway swaps. this is a very nice family run chain. if it is cold they will have fire pits set up at both locations for us. they do not however supply the wood. If anyone would like to bring a few pieces with them, between all of us we should be able to have the pits bruning strong for the entire event.

I'm glad to hear the little blue araucanas are doing well. They are such sweet birds. Now to see if that splash really is a boy!! 8)

That splash is sooooo pretty. I wish I needed a roo. I had a talk with my boy last night and told him that I finally found him some women but that he still has to wait a while before he can have them.
