I want to install a little chicken swing for my girls. What do you think is best as the base? Ability to grip or flat? Branch vs 2x4 (or similar)

I just looked up chicken swings and it asked me if I meant chicken wings. No! I'm a crazy chicken lady and want a swing for her chickens!

*whispers* Probably doesn't matter as most chickens won't use 'em.

My chickens have a chicken swing in the run made from branches. I tied a few thin branches together with a thin rope . They didn't like when it swinged a lot. The swing is tempered now with an extra rope to the ground. They do use it from time to time. But not often. Sometimes they jump on it to get an extra treat. Rarely 2 chickens sit on it and swing a little bit.

I mean you can try it if you want, but I've only had one chicken use mine and she only used it once in a while when she was young. It hasn't been touched in close to 2 years now.

My husband made 2 swings out of 2x4s as if the chickens were children! He put the chickens on, and, *of course* they wouldn't have any of it, lol .
