I have a chook that is struggling to breath. She is opening her mouth and making a weezing sound. Then she started sorting of throwing herself forward. I have video but having trouble putting it up. anyone have some ideas of what it might be and any ways I can help her out?

Many of the poultry respiratory diseases will have similar symptoms. Some are bacterial, viral, or fungal in origin. In tropical areas where ther Surinam cockroach is common, gapeworm can have symptoms similar to respiratory diseases. Look inside the throat with a light to make sure there is nothing blocking the airway. I would look at this link to compare her symptoms with infectious bronchitis or IB, infectious laryngotracheitis or ILT, mycoplasma (MG,) or coryza: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/ps044

Thank you for the link, that was really interesting. I ended up taking her to the vets and she has pneumonia. Kept her warm and was given some shots by the vet and shes looking better.
