I've got a very timid little serama hen, she is scared of everything. It's causing noise pollution in the garden because she panics and begins to cry out for long periods of time, causing the roosters to copy alongside her as well as multiple hens, making it two reasons i want to relax her. 1 - I obviously hate to see her scared and 2 - The rest of my flock have become very noisy, and I don't want to lose them for their noise.
Living in an urban area, chickens are allowed, unless there are legitiment complaints about either noise or smell. Bless my neighbors for not complaining at all about noise but it's not fair to allow it to continue.
So, any ideas how i can relax her, both in handleing and in general?
Thankyou

I have one nervous hen too, Daisy. Handling has not made a difference, she doesn't like to be handled. Although your hen may enjoy it. it is worth a try. I have read of a type of medication that will calm them and will see if I can find it again if you are interested?

well, ive got her on my lap at the moment to keep the noise down outside, and she is keeping low, i swear she is rocking and is as far away from me as possible. her tail is low and dare i move my hand near her she swings her head away as though she thinks i was about to slap her o.O that or she starts breathing very fast. Handling alone wouldnt be such a problem, apart from getting her back to put into her coop.

The medication does seem interesting, please
