Chicken " Throwing Up"

    Sometimes I see my chickens throw up water........Why is that? And also today I picked up my hen and then she threw up. [​IMG]

    Quite a few times I've had young ones throw up water when I picked them up. I just figured they were scared into puking. [​IMG]

    It really isn't "throwing up", it is just water coming from the crop. This usually happens after the bird has had a drink of water and then bends over or had her crop squeezed. It is perfectly normal. [​IMG]

    Sometimes, if you squeeze them just right, they gag on you. It has happened to me. Maybe try a different approach.

    also if they drink to much water or drink it to fast..
    my chickens sucked down water this morning and alot of it came right back out, yet they went for more..
    they drank to much to fast.

    My chicken seems to gag it up after she's been scared or picked up.. shes only about 6 mos... But for some reason shes also throwing up her food.... ?
