Chicken to little for rooster

Rooster mounted chicken little and squashed her. She still eating and drinking but not walking. I’ve removed her from the coop and she is trying to get better. After 2 days she is standing for short periods but on her belly with one leg stretched out. Do you think she will recover?

sorry for the circumstances. Only time will tell whether or not she will fully recover. Bottom line is that all small hens should be placed in a flock separate from this rooster.

She’s copper Maran cross. She’s the smallest one of the 5 I have. They all came in together as babies hatched mid April 2019 including the roo. 2 of her litter mates have recently hatched eggs which I have separated from the others which left the other 3 with bigbird. And that’s when she got injured

She s been fine up til now. But I pulled 2 chickens out that were hatching eggs. Guess she couldn’t hide no more

She’s always been the smallest. This pic is 3 months old and not sure when her hatch date was but after mid April 2019

If you witnessed the rooster mating her, she might have an injury. We always wonder about Mareks disease though when someone’s chicken has one leg stretched out in front of the other. Do you have any pictures that you could post?

I chased him off and she hid under the nesting boxes The next time I went to check (about and hour). She was belly flopping on the floor . You wanted o pic of what exactly?

If she has any swelling or marks on her leg or foot, a picture might be helpful. Otherwise, sometimes it helps to see a pic of how they are lying or sitting. If that is difficult, we don’t have to have any. Since you witnessed her injury, it hopefully will get better with resting the leg. Sprains can be common.

She has stood up a couple times but not for more than a few seconds but is tucking her legs under her more than she was. When she does have a leg stuck out it’s not always the same one. I will try and get pics
