Hello all!

I come from Coulterville, CA. I am currently house sitting for a friend, but will soon be moving to an old ranch house where the owners graze cattle and horses in the meadow next door. My friend brought up having me build a coop and get some chickens for his property, so of course I decided to get my own as well. This site has been super helpful getting the things I want for my specific plans nailed down, so I won't bother asking a million questions.

My idea is to start with 4 chickens in a chicken tractor that I can move around the yard. It will have a run of an adjustable 6x4 or 9x4 size, with future potential to add another 3 or 4 feet. I want it to be big enough to add some fun things for my chickens to be entertained. The coop itself will be set up for a deep litter method with 2 or 3 nesting boxes. The side will open, allowing me to turn the litter, clean the box, or whatever else I need to do in there. The sides are repurposed pallet wood that I got from my boss and the rest is going to be painted lumber or otherwise repurposed wood as I find it. There will also be a predator skirt around the edges of my tractor and a 3x4 garden box over the end of the run to help weigh it down and grow some treats for my girls.

I don't know what else to say, but if you want to comment, I ain't gonna say no to the help.
