He is 13, im not sure what could he have done but he does get angry and i noticed that when he gets upset here we noticed things wrong with the feathers on our birds, we made a rule that no kids in with the birds but my showgirl are inside were any one can se or grab them. i hate to think that he did anything but he was acting very strange that night he would not go to sleep that night he up wondering around them that nigh and then the next morning he was gone.
I feel for you. Last September I lost my beloved Harley.
I just could not get over it. He was my first chicken and I loved him like a pet. Not just a chicken. He was my buddy. He would pose for pictures, let me hold him (he was not a little guy) and he would cluck at me almost talk with me. I assure you, you will heal, it will take time but you will heal. I am so sorry for your loss. Sending hugs your way.
The bird is dead, and I am very sorry for that. But you have a bigger issue if a 13 year old is hurting small animals just because something upset him. If you suspect that he is capable of such things, then the kid has issues that must be addressed. It is a sign of mental problems that can lead to much worse. When I first read the post I thought maybe he was a very young child that may have accidentally hurt the bird, but this is much more sinister.
Not much i can do, but to not let him sleep over and watch him while he is here. hes my nephew, if he was mine belive me you i would have givin him a a kicking a long time ago. he was in an institution for kids before but he was a lot better, we all think he has approved but like i said he still does these wird things that make me think, like the night before he lit up matches in my living room while we were sleeping, i found out the next morning, and i laid it into him, maybe i should have just sent him home, just mabe my blizzard would still be here.
