A little... I lost my clicker (argh.) gonna have to get a new one... She will jump now though. I was training her to peck at a blue paper circle. Still haven't found any mealworms yet either... Will switch to those ASAP though.

I am working a pullet as well. I will try to train her to go to a blue cup. Instead of a clicker I will use voice.

Centrarchid- is it too late for me to switch from clicker to voice?

I think it is a bit too late for me to start with Sunrise--she has some of the symptoms Susan did,but maybe Sal...

Younger is easier but I can take a year old game-hen or gamecock that is normally psycho for lack of handling and get it relatively quickly into point where is can be trained to voice. Younger is easier. Chicks easiest but pullet I am starting now is nearly 3/4 grown and has already tamed down enough for me to pick her up. Biggest limitation will be your approach. You will likely have to learn more than bird to get bird to do desired actions on cue; I always do. Keep distractions like dogs and small children out of picture during training. My distractions eat meal worms as readily as bird does.

It's been quite rainy, so I haven't been able to train as much as I want to. Tomorrow will be sunny, so I will really work on training tomorrow.

Bring trainee inside. Well trained bird will perform under a range of conditions. A single bird also easy to clean after, especially if flooring hardwood or linoleum. I like to have trainee alone at least part of time to limit distractons caused by other birds.
