Chicken Tricks?

Hi. I want to try training some chickens. What are the best breeds to train? And when should I start training them?

What kind of tricks.... I trained a mixed flock for simple tricks like jumping on my shoulder and stuff... I just used meal worms and treats. But when they got big I was kinda not liking it cause I would walk outside with my coffee, look at the sky and without being prepared I would feel Ethel's claws on my shoulder. She will sneak up behind me and jump. The other stuff is good. They lay in a pack with my dogs at my feet when I am outside sitting. The easier ones to teach were the New Hampshire reds. The Minorca will do tricks half assed for the treat but shy is super flighty. Jersey Giants are the most gental but too heavy for some tricks and the other won't even bother. Good luck

Thanks! That is exactly what I want to train my chicken. What breeds do you recommend to train?

I don't really recommend a breed but I suggest that you handle them a lot as chicks so they are more responsive... My first group of five I handled and was able to train... My second group went straight to coop and are not easy to train.

But bread and meal worms are their favorite treats for tricks!!!

Thanks! Do you know where I can find a Serama chicken? Is there a hatchery that supplies them?
