Chicken tried to hang herself. Need some advice

I would get some of that dental repair stuff you can get in any pharmacy. the filling fix stuff.

a repair i use for broken nails, take a piece of a tea bag, cover the hole with it then put super glue or nail glue on it.

I ended up gluing a piece of rubber glove on it. It's really not her beak so much as further back to her waddles. My friend things she'll learn to live with it but I want to give her the chance to heal.

So far the rubber glove piece is doing the trick. She's been drinking and eating some grass I tossed in for her. Still not eating much food, but I'm hoping that will change tomorrow.

Thank you all for your help on this tough situation. I hope you never have to go through it.

Me too! I can just picture how this happened--poor girl. It would be a shame to have to put her down. I hope she makes it~

Must have been awful finding her. She should start eating more when she's got over it. The rubber glove should do the trick just replace it ever so often to stop risks of infection.
Please keep us updated! :)
Good luck to you and your chicken.
Daisy. xx

Glad you found something to work for the poor thing.
I am now thinking I should take down the small sets of chimes in my run.
They are hanging on looped strings just above their heads.
They jump up a bit to ring them all the time.
I can picture it now, ugh.
Okay, out to the run I go ...

Thank you all for your help and well wishes. The rubber patch came off later that night, but I guess the glue sealed the hole still. She has made a full recovery. Is eating, drinking and getting into trouble. I'll reintegrate her back into her coop today. What a lucky little girl she is. I never would have guessed she'd pull through.
