I have a approx 2 or 3 yr old rescued barnevelder that has recently been unable to walk or stand. I noticed this about a week ago when I saw her sitting with her legs straight out in front on her, and then her struggling to waddle when I approached her. Since then I have moved her inside and have begun giving her liquid b12, electrolytes, probiotics, and vet rx with scrambled eggs. I have seen no improvement. She will still eat and drink but she cannot stand at all. I have checked her for bumble foot and it doesn’t look like any other external issues. I’m thinking it’s either mareks or a vitamin deficiency. If it’s the latter when will I begin to see improvement? Also I moved another chicken in with her that is going through a difficult molt, but I have noticed both of them are making a gurgling wheezey noises during and after they eat, which is worrisome. The other chickens in my flock appear totally healthy. Im worried about my two chickens, and am not sure what else I can do for them at this point. Both of these chickens were rescued from the same flock about a year ago. I have only ever had health issues from chickens we’ve rescued. If anyone has any advice that would be great.
