Hi,
My five year old Brahma has been completely healthy up until 15 minutes ago. I noticed her fall off the ladder to her coop as she was trying to go up to bed at dusk. I ran in and found her with her feet splayed behind her and she was breathing heavily. No mucous or blood anywhere. I held her for about ten minutes to calm her. She is now in a crate with water and kale but she can’t stand. She is upright on her belly, able to hold head up, comb bright red and warm, eyes clear but lids more closed than usual. Any advice appreciated. Pictures upon request. Thank you.

Could she be egg-bound? Maybe feel around her abdomen and vent area gentle and see if you can feel anything. Sometimes if the egg gets stuck it can press on a nerve and cause spasms which may have been why she fell off the ladder?

You could give her a human calcium supplement to see if that helps. Does her crop feel normal/full?

I know that cancers can impinge on nerves and cause difficulty with standing/walking/balance etc.
