The best advice I can give you is to learn about chicken diseases and to avoid them at all costs.

The best way to avoid them is to buy all of your birds as chicks from a major hatchery and do not introduce any new birds.

There are a ton of people that sell sick chickens either willingly or unknowingly so be extremely careful who you purchase from.
