This one and a half-year-old female started with a limp about a week ago and has progressed to walking, almost standing upright like a duck. I’ve tried feeling her legs and hips, and they seem fine, but she is still acting and walking very weirdly. Any suggestions?

Pictures posted here or a video of her walking uploaded to YouTube or a similar site may be helpful. Could she have been injured? Is her tail, up or down? Some hens will walk more upright with a wide girth if they are having a reproductive disorder such as salpingitis or internal laying.

Tail is down hips, splayed out.

Does she lay eggs and are they normal? Does she have any enlargement or swelling of her lower belly under her vent? Hens who are egg bound might look a bit like this, but usually it can be caused by water belly (ascites) or internal laying (salpingitis.)
