I would put some antibiotic cream all over the wound and then put a gauze bandage over that and then wrap it with some ouchless bandage. Keep a close eye on it and change it out with fresh antibiotic cream, bandage and wrap.

This is what I did for my 3 hens that were attacked last year. They all recovered with much worse wounds than your hen. BTW, if a hawk did this make sure you check under her wings for wounds. Separate her so she won't get picked on by the other chickens.

Thank you so much!! Running to the store now. I'm not really to sure what happened. They were in the coop all day no sign of anything getting in. Could possibly have been my older chickens.

If they were in the coop all day that tells me that one of your chickens is very aggressive, unless a hawk or something got inside. If it's an aggressive chicken those two won't be safe with wounds. I'm so sorry this happen, they don't realize it hurts us, too.

It's a very awkward spot, as long as the neosporin can stay on it.

How are they doing today?

They seem to be doing ok today. Eating and drinking. So I have 2 more the same age as them ( been together since day one), and they are kinda having a panic attack because they have been separated. When do you think it would be safe to put them back together out in the coop? We have put the older chicken in a separate coop.
Thank you for asking.
