Chicken was attacked HELP!!!!!

She's actually doing pretty good today. She's eating and drinking more and back to pooping normal. Her wound looks good to.

She really wants to be back with her friends.

Her friends will eat her. She should be pretty well healed before you reintroduce her to the flock.

Is the prolapse resolved? If it is still hanging out, the tissue will dry out and die, most likely killing the hen.

Here's info on how to treat a prolapse. The site is full of helpful info and pictures.

A coon got into my coop a month or two ago and took a chunk of a hens leg. I cleaned it very well with tweezers and got some wound cleaner from pet express. I also gave her crushed up Aspirin in water to make her more comfortable. Then I wrapped it and she stayed in a dog crate for a few days inside bit then I moved it into the coop so she would not be taken out of pecking order. After it skabbed over I took her out of the crate and carried her around for a few days then she started hopping by herself. Now her leg is paralyzed but she is totally independent. Don't worry about your girly, chickens can overcome amazing odds. Good luck!

Well I'm glad your girl is doing better. Yeah they were out running around the yard when it happened. But she's doing so much better today.
