Chicken what breed and how to get a chicken to lay again

I am getting a chicken from my relatives and they are getting to old to take care of her and I don't want her to die because she is so sweet and I love chickens she is a very traditional breed I think I don't have a picture but she looks kind of like a light brahma she is 2-3 years old and she doesn't lay anymore I was just wondering is there something we can do to get her to lay again or is she done thank you for reading hope to hear what you think!

Do you know how long its been since she layed? Could just be the time of year, due to molting, or both. Do you have any flock mates for her?

I have ten other chickens so she would not be lonely anymore and her last egg was early in the summer she would lay even in the summer and winter because she had a fully in closed coop

Oyster shells and layer feed should always be fed to laying hens, not just as a last ditch effort

Apart from the extra calcium, you could try feeding extra protein to encourage egg production, but she probably won't lay if there are not enough hours of light every day (natural light or artificial).

How are you going to integrate her into your flock?

that's awesome she won't be lonely.
Maybe she will resume in spring. For now I'd let her get used to her new digs and see how everything goes.

On a side note, my flock still gets the higher protein chick crumble and I leave out OS and broken egg shells to use as they please. If you try some extra protein, my flock loves salmon and hamburger, but they turn up their beaks at tuna. Good luck with your new girl!

Thanks everyone you are so helpful I have a big old bird cage and I will put her in there for a little while and introduce her in slowly like I do with my young ones I will give her extra shells and I will give her some veggies
