I need some help - I have a black australorp (she will be a year next month) that wont get out of her nest - when I push her out she gets up and walks around just for a little bit but then heads back to her nest - her tails feathers are up in the nest - this is day two of her wanting to stay in her nest - can anyone help - dont know what to do??

Definitely broody.

Give her some eggs she can hatch.

sounds broody to me...do you want baby chicks?, if you have a rooster and she is sitting on eggs you could very well have some babies on the way. if no roo or she has no eggs under here you may want to consider breaking her broodiness...if so do a search for breaking a broody hen and you will see several ways to accomplish this...

Broody. Yep.

IF (if, if... ) you want her to hatch some eggs, I would highly recommend isolating her in a pen or dog crate or something. Hatches get all messed up when a broody must share a nest. The chicken keeper is unsure of which eggs are "the hatching" ones or "the new" ones... All sorts of stories.
