Hahaha! That truly made me laugh out loud. Lol
Every time i look at her pic, i think the same. I have some serious Anna baby envy.
I will explain in a bit. It's a longer story and i have to go and bring my chicks inside first![]()

Please add them!It all started with me finding her one hot summer day outside, beak first in the soil. Listless. So i brought her in. I didn't know what was wrong. So i observed and observed. Couldn't find anything wrong. She wasn't egg bound, she just had laid an egg an hour earlier. Her face was a little pale, so was her comb, so i thought she was overheated. Which she was not! No vent gleet, no impacted or sour crop, no signs of a respiratory. No anything! I kept her in for observation. She wouldn't eat, wouldn't drink. Would lay down only. This all happened from one day to another. The day before she was totally fine! No injuries, didn't behave like she had a vitamin deficiency. Every limb worked perfectly fine! Listless, no appetite, no nothing. She slowly developed what i can only describe as a pus martial like looking thin sheet of paper at the corner of her mouth. I thought she had developed canker! So i ordered metronidazole powder 20%. Gave her a treatment of that for 5 days. It didn't go away, nor did she look or feel better. I used tylan 50 after a few says of pause. Didn't help either. I waited a few days and used penicillin (Dura Pen). Didn't do anyting. I ordered 4in1 powder, which treats all sorts of ailments. That didn't help either. I started topical stuff. Iodine tincture, athletes foot cream on her facial skin, miconazole cream, later on, convenia injectable, sulfa Trimethoprim oral suspension (both items two vets prescribed) both didn't help. I have tried many things, like neem oil, gentian violet, colloidal silver drops, safeguard equine paste, ivomec injectable (per vet), ivermectin pour on, ivermectin oral paste (of course everything with their respective treatment duration duration and days of pause in between. I did fecal floas, and saw what i thought was knemnicoptes. Which i now know they weren't. She was treated with everything under the sun, it just seems not with the right items. In the meantime everyone kept telling me it is fowl pox, because of the sores she kept growing. She was in the house for so many months, and away from her flock mates, they haven't had fowl pox. Two weeks later, sure enough, everyone got fowl pox, slowly but good! lol
I tube fed for a whole month and she slowly gained strength back and was ok after that. Gained weght, ate, drank, pooped fine. So she wen back out. She was ok for a fw months (maybe 1 1/2 months)
I found her one morning not wanting to come off the roost and she has green pus gunk in her eye. I broght her back in. Treated her with tylan 50, the gunk wen away and she was better! Back out she went after a two week "in house" treatment. She has been in and out because she kept coming back with gunk in her eye. This last time i broght her back outside she looked perfect except for the scabs. No open wounds, no pus, the next day the pus exploded and was everywhere. So.. yeah, 11 months of not knowing and three days of baytril, i see a significant change! I will add some pictures. So you can see how the scabs progressed over time. If you want to take a look, of course![]()
I will add them later. Some got uploaded to the cloud. I will add pics from months ago. Just so you can see how messed up this all had been! As you can see, her skin got flakey. And she has that pus sheet at the corner of her mouth. that was all when she was listless and before any treatments. Please add them!
Look for the "gallery" option. You can upload photos to an album there. I'll be back soon with a direct link.more proress! Ordered Derma Vet cream per Vet. Maybe i can hold off on the Itraconazole, as the liquid is a bit pricey. I pray she can heal now. Is there a way i can add lots of pics to my profile? I want to add a few of AnnaView attachment 1374768

She is awesome!!! Took a needed dirt bath outside today, hung out with the ducks and came back inside, got her face cleaned from all the sand and was syringe fed 60ml of water and went to snacking on crumble! The scabs aren't re-forming! YAY!How is she doing today?
