We are one year old chicken farmers (7 hens

). We have a light brahma that has a big bald spot on her neck. It doesn't look sore - no redness or blood, and it doesn't seem to bother her. I don't see any other hens picking at her. I'm curious what's causing it and if I should be doing something for her? I've attached a few pictures of the spot. They're not the best but hopefully will give you an idea what it looks like. It's actually bigger that what the pictures show.

My hens get that when the others pick at the food that is stuck in the neck feathers. Freaked me out the first time I saw it.

Sounds like nothing to be concerned with - thanks.

My daughter wants everyone to know her chicken's name is Rosie.

My Barred Rock looks like a Turken since my BO, and sometimes one of my EEs, decided that her neck feathers were tasty. I have to put 'no pick' stuff on her daily to keep them from going after the new ones coming in. Poor thing was a beautiful bird. Now she is the homeliest thing ever.
