Chicken with breathing problem

This morning she was sneezing really hard and toppling over after each sneeze so I grabbed her put some vet RX on her and shoved half a clove of garlic down her throat let's see how she manages

^ not who you were asking but we eventually treated our flock with antibiotics but initially used garlic in the water and that seemed to help them not feel as badly for a few days until we could get antibiotics.

Thx for asking...and she also gets worse at night with sneezing attacks I control with garlic.
These two seem to be going through the same issue.

Sneezing can be a sign of infectious bronchitis which can run through the flock over weeks or months.

Do you put the garlic in her water? Or how do you administer it? Yeah we have the same situation, unfortunately.

How much garlic? And like fresh, crushed, or whatever? Thanks in advance.

I just chopped up a couple cloves. Maybe 2-3 cloves per gallon? I left the chunks floating in it and then would toss it after about twelve hours and redo.

If it is infectious bronchitis virus, it has to run it’s course over several weeks. It can cause some wrinkled egg shells and other shell problems.

Be careful rubbing her chest if you accidentally squeeze her crop. Her crop in her upper to mid right chest has food and water in it during the day, and should empty overnight. Feel of it in early morning to see if it is functioning. Sometimes they can have rattling due to crop contents coming back up into the throat. Does she gag or adjust her crop as something is stuck in her throat? She is quite old and they can have a chronic respiratory disease, or suffer from reproductive or crop problems that slow the crop from emptying. It sounds like you have been using Vet Rx, which is similar to Vicks. Let us know what her crop feels like. Also let us know if she has any mucus from her nostrils or beak, sneezing, or watery/bubbly eye. Those are signs of a respiratory disease.

I have a young hens with an emergency. Gasping for air, calling out off and on, eyes shut, she can't catch her breath.
I have VetRX, put on her neck and near nostril. Could be gapeworm?? Or respiratory?? Just gave Ivermectin too.

Are either of her eyes swollen? Any eye bubbles or foam? Any sneezing? Gapeworm can be rare. Have you added any new birds recently? If you want to treat her for gapeworms, SafeGuard liquid goat wormer 1.25 ml given orally for. 5 consecutive days can treat that. Shake the bottle well, since it settles out.
