chicken with droopy wing

He's a little better this morning I think. The vet thinks that it is either a staff infection in the joint or an injury. I'll talk to him this morning and he'll decide what to do next.

I'm sorry to report that Bertie died last night. The vet did an autopsy and said his wing was infected and he was probably sick long before the wing happened. He was a sweet boy and we are sad. It's our first chicken loss. It's hard to not wonder what would have happened if we had done things differently.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that, he was so cute. I've had my share of chickens with droopy wings so I wasn't expecting that.

Hi everyone!

My 9 mo old white sussex/mix hen, Bubbles, has been displaying similar traits. One of her wings seems to droop a little, but otherwise she seems totally fine and doesn't seem to be displaying any unusually behavior.
She might be drinking a little more water than normal, and has been laying every other day, but otherwise is fine. I've checked her poo, and no signs of cocci, thank goodness.

Her wing seemed to droop a little when she was a pullet, and then seemed to disappear for awhile and is now sort of showing up again.

I saw a post about checking the chicken's skin for any swelling or any signs of ticks so i"m gonna do that right now. I really hope it's just her feathers growing faster than her other wing and not a joint infection 8C
