And I'm back again, i feel sort of bad for taking attention away from other people with worse problems but I'm paranoid and my hens neck is twitching. Her neck twitches when she eats, like she's choking except she's not gagging or showing any other visible signs of discomfort. When she twitches it looks like she's trying to bend her neck to the side. I've felt her crop because I've had trouble with crop impaction in the recent past and like i said i am very paranoid. Her crop feels normal, it's not large or hard or squishy it feels just like every other healthy crop I've felt. I also felt further up her neck really gently and felt nothing again. And as soon as she stops eating the twitching stops and then she goes back to normal. I added some probiotics in a waterer, and removed solid food right before bed. She otherwise seems healthy, except for a really ugly molt that is, and she isn't being pecked on by the other chickens as she is second to top of the pecking order. She's a tough hen, fights the rooster when he tries to mount her and always wins despite being a fourth of his size. She is an Easter Egger about a year and A Half Old. i only got her a few weeks ago from a friend this is my first flock and we haven't added any new birds, these girls have lived together for five months since the last new addition but they were raised from chicks by the previous owner. It might be nothing but i figured I'd ask anyway before i delve into research and freak out over something that's definitely fatal that my chicken probably doesn't have. These chickens are going to be the death of me :thi'm just hoping I'm not the death of these chickens. Thank you to all.

Hard molts bring on weird off behaviors. I assume because the growing feathers are poking them and they react to it. I would guess it will stop after her feathers all grow in.
