Chicken with one swollen eye

Hey everyone, just wanted to update and let you know while the swelling isn't gone yet the redness is going down and it is looking a little better. Thanks for all the help!

Would you believe yesterday I had another hen with an eye that looked just like your post? Someone is eye-pecking around here. I applied the antibiotic cream right away. This morning it looks a bit better and I put more cream liberally around and in the eye. I hope your girl is better real soon!

Oh my gosh! Yours too!! Are you using neosporin or something else? Just curious. I checked snows eye again this morning (have been applying vetericyn twice a day) it looks about the same though, doesn't look worse at least but not much better.

I just wanted to post an update : snow is completely back to normal! Too bad I now have a chicken with a (minor) cracked beak! These ladies, I swear!

Sorry I didn't see your post sooner. I just used triple antibiotic ointment we had in the house. Both chickens that had swollen eyes are back to normal!

Hey, I'm sorry to tell you but I think those symptoms are different and requires medication /treatment. I saw this thread while searching for my own chicken eye swelling. Mine had no discharge and resolved on its own. Take a look at one of the other threads I found one for you that you might find helpful...
