I forgot to say I know from experience

This is what I do:

Step one - figure out if there is an egg by inserting a finger in the vent.
Step two - stabilize hen.
Step three - give fluids and calcium.
Step four - place in warm, steam filled room and let the fluids and calcium do their magic.

suggestion:

she could be pushing so hard to lay an egg! sometimes when i see one of my hens lay an egg, there is red tissue surrounding the egg all the way around the egg, until the entire egg has emerged (surrounded by tissue) then the tissue retracts and the egg comes out! maybe she is doing this but is too small to pass the egg? try a warm bath and soak her bum, the heat could help with softening things up and opening/ relaxation. try to lubricate the opening! can you feel the mass that gets pushed out when she pushes? Is it hard/ soft squishy???

Thank you everyone!!! She finally started eating and drinking (yay!) bringing her to the vet, don't know whether not there is an egg in there, but we're hopefully going to figure out!!

I hope she makes it! She sounds like a fighter! Maby she has an Angel with her! Maricles do happen. Even the small ones! Prayers from Kansas! Please let us know! There have been a whole lot of people pulling for you both who obviously care giving excellent advice...we feel your pain!

Thank you everyone!! Clare is doing really good, moving around and eating. The vet said it was just an infection, no egg. She was having lots of trouble getting stuff moving through, so I'm just supposed to keep her seperated until she is back to eating, drinking, and acting well. She's a fighter!!
