Chicken with sour crop

I saw on here that some gave their chicken miconazole 7 for sour crop problems. How did you give it to them? I have the cream. Did you put it in something then give it? Thanks.

Pry open the beak and squirt it into the mouth. You need to get a half to one inch of cream into the chicken's mouth. Do this twice a day for seven full days.

Thank you so much. Right now I've been feeding her because she won't eat. Thankfully I have a vet appointment today. Its been 7 days of this. She needs more help. I don't want to lose her.

If she can eat a grape whole you can use a drinking straw to bore out the inside of the grape and squeeze the dose of cream inside. Choose grapes that are about 1/2" inch long and then you have the perfect dose! Sometimes they hit the grape sideways and some squeezes out but they like the taste of the cream and usually will finish it up. You might even be able to freeze it like yogurt drops but I'm not sure if the freezing temperature would denature the antifungal somehow.

Ok, that's an idea. I can grab some smaller grapes. She likes grapes. She has no appetite. Today she seems a little brighter. It's been a fight but I did find a syringe that I can suck up the cream and give. It's still a battle. I'm also getting yogurt in her. Thanks for the tip.

Squeezing the cream out of the tube directly into a pried open beak is exactly the same as syringing it, and most likely much easier since the orifice of the tube is at least twice as large as a syringe orifice.

My heart is breaking. I got my girl to the vet Thursday afternoon. Put her on two meds, Nystatin and Albon. Last night she gave up. She passed away at 7:00 pm or so. My sweet Athena.
